SABRES ASSIGN REDMOND TO ROCHESTER

BUFFALO, N.Y. (November 9, 2017) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has assigned defenseman Zach Redmond to the Rochester Americans (AHL).

BUFFALO, N.Y. (November 7, 2017) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has recalled defenseman Zach Redmond from the Rochester Americans (AHL).

Redmond (6’2”, 212 lbs., 7/26/1988) joins the Sabres for the second time this season after appearing in two games for the team following a recall on Oct. 21. With five points (1+4) through seven AHL games in 2017-18, the defenseman ranks fourth among all Rochester skaters with .71 points per game.

Selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the seventh round (184th overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft, Redmond has now appeared in parts of six NHL seasons, totaling 38 points (9+29) and a plus-10 rating in 132 games with the Sabres, the Montreal Canadiens, the Colorado Avalanche and the Winnipeg Jets. The Traverse City, Michigan native has recorded 105 points (30+75) in 197 career regular-season AHL games, adding 19 points (4+15) in 35 AHL postseason contests.

In a corresponding move, the Sabres have placed forward Justin Bailey on injured reserve.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (October 21, 2017) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has recalled defenseman Zach Redmond from the Rochester Americans (AHL).

Redmond (6’2”, 212 lbs., 7/26/1988) joins the Sabres for his first recall since being acquired on Oct. 4 from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Nicolas Deslauriers. In four games this season, he is tied for the Amerks’ team lead in points (3), assists (2) and plus/minus rating (plus-2).

Selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the seventh round (184th overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft, Redmond has appeared in parts of five NHL seasons, totaling 38 points (9+29) and a plus-11 rating in 130 games with Montreal, the Colorado Avalanche and the Winnipeg Jets. The Traverse City, Michigan native has recorded 103 points (30+73) in 194 career regular-season AHL games, adding 19 points (4+15) in 35 AHL postseason contests.

In a corresponding move, the Sabres have placed defenseman Josh Gorges on injured reserve.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (October 4, 2017) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has acquired defenseman Zach Redmond from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for forward Nicolas Deslauriers. Redmond will report to the Rochester Americans (AHL).

Redmond (6’2”, 212 lbs., 7/26/1988) split time between Montreal and the St. John’s IceCaps (AHL) in his first season with the Canadiens organization in 2016-17, posting five assists in 16 NHL games and 18 points (4+14) in 26 games with the IceCaps.

Selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the seventh round (184th overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft, Redmond has appeared in parts of five NHL seasons, totaling 38 points (9+29) and a plus-11 rating in 130 games with Montreal, the Colorado Avalanche and the Winnipeg Jets. He has recorded 100 points (29+71) in 190 career regular-season AHL games, adding 19 points (4+15) in 35 AHL postseason contests.

A native of Traverse City, Michigan, Redmond also represented the United States at the 2015 IIHF World Hockey Championship, helping the team earn a bronze medal.
