SABRES RECALL RODRIGUES

BUFFALO, N.Y. (December 4, 2017) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has recalled forward Evan Rodrigues from the Rochester Americans (AHL).

Rodrigues (5’11”, 182 lbs., 7/28/1993) will join the Sabres for his first recall of the season after appearing in 30 games with the team during his second professional season in 2016-17. The Toronto, Ontario native has totaled 10 points (5+5) in eight AHL games this season and leads all Rochester skaters with 1.25 points per game.

In a corresponding move, the Sabres have assigned forward Kyle Criscuolo to Rochester.

SABRES RECALL CRISCUOLO, NELSON

BUFFALO, N.Y. (November 16, 2017) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has recalled forward Kyle Criscuolo (krihs-KOH-loh) and defenseman Casey Nelson from the Rochester Americans (AHL).

Criscuolo (5’9”, 172 lbs., 5/5/1992) joins the Sabres for his first career recall after signing a two-year contract with the team in July. Through 14 games in his second full AHL season, the Southampton, New Jersey native is tied for the Americans’ team lead with 11 points (5+6) and leads the team in plus/minus rating (plus-4) and shots (40).

Now in his second full professional season after signing with the Sabres in March 2016, Nelson (6’1”, 185 lbs., 7/18/1992) has posted four points (1+3) in 14 games with Rochester in 2017-18. A native of Stillwater, Minnesota, Nelson has totaled four assists and 12 penalty minutes in 18 career NHL games with Buffalo.

In a corresponding move, the Sabres have placed defensemen Taylor Fedun and Matt Tennyson on injured reserve.

SABRES ASSIGN FOUR TO ROCHESTER

BUFFALO, N.Y. (September 24, 2017) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has assigned forwards Kyle Criscuolo, Hudson Fasching and C.J. Smith, as well as defenseman Brendan Guhle, to the Rochester Americans (AHL).

The Sabres now have 32 players (18 forwards, 11 defensemen and three goaltenders) on their training camp roster.

PORTER, CRISCUOLO SIGN TWO-YEAR DEALS WITH SABRES

BUFFALO, N.Y. (July 1, 2017) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has signed forwards Kevin Porter and Kyle Criscuolo each to two-year, two-way contracts.

Porter (5’11”, 191 lbs., 3/12/1986) led the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins with 35 assists in the 2016-17 AHL regular season and tied for third on the team with 46 points. His six points (0+6) in five AHL playoff games also tied for the Penguins’ team lead. The Detroit native has tallied 250 total points (95+155) in 357 games through seven AHL seasons.

In 249 career NHL games, Porter has totaled 58 points (29+29), including 10 points (4+6) in 43 games with the Sabres from 2012-13 to 2013-14. In those seasons, he added 80 points (34+46) in 98 games with the Rochester Americans.

Criscuolo (5’9”, 175 lbs., 5/5/1992) joins the Sabres after winning a Calder Cup with the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL) during his first full professional season in 2016-17. The Philadelphia native recorded 41 points (17+24) in 76 regular-season games as a rookie with the Griffins, adding nine points (5+4) in 19 playoff contests.

Before joining the Griffins, Criscuolo totaled 113 points (53+60) in 124 games during four NCAA seasons for Harvard University (ECAC), earning both ECAC Second All-Star Team and ECAC Hockey Student Athlete of the Year honors after his junior season.
