SABRES ACQUIRE FORWARD LEIER

BUFFALO, N.Y. (January 17, 2019) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has acquired forward Taylor Leier from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for forward Justin Bailey.

Leier (5’11”, 180 lbs., 2/15/1994) will join the Rochester Americans (AHL) after recording 19 points (10+9) in 34 AHL games with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms so far this season. Now in his fifth professional season, the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native has totaled 136 points (56+80) in 226 career regular-season games with the Phantoms. In 2017, he was named the Most Valuable Player at the AHL All-Star Classic.

Since being selected by Philadelphia in the fourth round (117th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft, Leier has appeared in 55 NHL games, recording seven points (2+5). He spent the entire 2017-18 season with the Flyers, appearing in a career-high 39 NHL games.

SABRES INK BAILEY

BUFFALO, N.Y. (July 15, 2018) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has signed forward Justin Bailey to a one-year, two-way contract with an AAV of $715,000.

Bailey (6’4”, 214 lbs., 7/1/1995) recorded a career-high three goals and added one assist in 12 NHL games during his third professional season in 2017-18. He also appeared in 37 AHL games for the Rochester Americans, where he finished with 15 points (10+5) and a plus-3 rating before adding two goals in three AHL playoff contests.

A native of Buffalo, New York, Bailey was drafted by the Sabres in the second round (52nd overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft. During his three-year professional career, Bailey has recorded eight points (5+3) in 52 NHL games and 96 points (53+43) in 159 AHL games.

SABRES QUALIFY SIX RESTRICTED FREE AGENTS

BUFFALO, N.Y. (March 19, 2018) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has recalled forward Justin Bailey from the Rochester Americans (AHL).

Bailey (6’4”, 214 lbs., 7/1/1995), who joins the Sabres for his fourth recall this season, has four points (3+1) in 10 games for the Sabres this season. Currently in his third professional season, the Buffalo native has recorded eight points (5+3) in 50 career NHL games for the Sabres.

Drafted by Buffalo in the second round (52nd overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft, Bailey has six points (4+2) in his last six games for the Amerks and has posted 92 points (49+43) in 150 career AHL contests.
