SABRES RECALL BAILEY, RODRIGUES

BUFFALO, N.Y. (February 24, 2017) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has recalled forwards Justin Bailey and Evan Rodrigues from the Rochester Americans (AHL).

Bailey (6’3”, 214 lbs, 7/1/1995) joins the team for his fourth recall of the season. In his second professional campaign, the Buffalo native is tied for ninth in the AHL with 19 goals in 40 games and has totaled three points (2+1) in 19 NHL games.

Rodrigues (5’10”, 183 lbs., 7/28/1993), who has recorded two assists in eight games with the Sabres this season, joins the team for his third recall of 2016-17. He ranks third among Rochester skaters with 18 assists and fifth with 27 total points.

In a corresponding move, the Sabres have assigned forward Derek Grant to Rochester.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (February 9, 2017) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has recalled forwards Derek Grant and Evan Rodrigues from the Rochester Americans (AHL).

Grant (6’3”, 212 lbs, 4/20/1990) joins the team for the second time this season. In 41 games for the Sabres and Nashville Predators this season, the Abbotsford, British Columbia native has four assists and 24 penalty minutes.

This is the second recall of the season for Rodrigues (5’10”, 183 lbs., 7/28/1993), who currently ranks third on the Amerks with 18 assists and fifth with 27 points. In four career NHL games for the Sabres, Rodrigues has recorded two points (1+1) and a plus-1 rating.

GRANT CLAIMED OFF WAIVERS, ASSIGNED TO ROCHESTER

BUFFALO, N.Y. (February 6, 2017) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has claimed forward Derek Grant off waivers from the Nashville Predators and assigned him to the Rochester Americans (AHL).

Grant (6’3”, 212 lbs, 4/20/1990) signed with the Sabres as a free agent on July 2, 2016 after spending the 2015-16 season in the Calgary Flames’ organization, where he split his time between Calgary and the Stockton Heat (AHL). The Abbotsford, British Columbia native played in 35 games for the Sabres and tallied three assists before being claimed by Nashville on Jan. 11. He recorded one assist in six games for the Predators.

In 81 career NHL games, Grant has seven assists and 30 penalty minutes. Drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the fourth round (119th overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft, Grant has also posted 162 points (88+74) and 174 penalty minutes in 292 career AHL games.
