SABRES ACQUIRE BODIE FROM RANGERS

BUFFALO, N.Y. (February 28, 2017) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has acquired defenseman Mat Bodie from the New York Rangers in exchange for forward Daniel Catenacci.

Bodie (6’0”, 175 lbs., 3/7/1990) currently ranks 12th among all AHL defensemen with 30 points (8+22)  in 45 games for the Hartford Wolf Pack this season. In 196 career AHL games, Bodie has compiled 98 points (20+78) and 127 penalty minutes. The East St. Paul, Manitoba native signed with the Rangers as an undrafted free agent after captaining Union College to an NCAA championship in 2014 and being named to the All-Tournament Team.

SABRES REDUCE ROSTER TO 23

BUFFALO, N.Y. (October 11, 2016) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has released five players from its roster.

The following four players have been loaned to the Rochester Americans (AHL): Forwards Nicholas Baptiste, Daniel Catenacci and Alexander Nylander; defenseman Justin Falk.

Defenseman Brendan Guhle has been returned to the Prince Albert Raiders (WHL).

The Sabres now have 23 players (14 forwards, 7 defensemen and two goaltenders) on their roster.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (October 4, 2016) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has recalled forwards Justin Bailey, Daniel Catenacci, Jean Dupuy and Cole Schneider, and defenseman Brady Austin from the Rochester Americans (AHL).

The team has also returned Giorgio Estephan to the Lethbridge Hurricanes (WHL).

The Sabres now have 37 players (21 forwards, 13 defensemen and three goaltenders) on their training camp roster.

SABRES TRIM CAMP ROSTER TO 33

BUFFALO, N.Y. (October 1, 2016) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has released 17 players from its training camp roster.

12 players have been loaned to the Rochester Americans (AHL): Forwards Justin Bailey, William Carrier, Daniel Catenacci (pending waivers), Eric Cornel, Jean Dupuy, Vaclav Karabacek, Justin Kea, Evan Rodrigues and Cole Schneider (pending waivers); defensemen Brady Austin and Brycen Martin; goaltender Jason Kasdorf.

Five players have been released from their tryouts and will report to Rochester for training camp: Forwards Matthew Lane and Daniel Muzito-Bagenda; defenseman Mac Bennett and Paul Geiger; goaltender John Muse.

The Sabres now have 33 players (18 forwards, 12 defensemen and three goaltenders) on their training camp roster.

CATENACCI, KASDORF AGREE TO CONTRACTS WITH SABRES

BUFFALO, N.Y. (July 17, 2016) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has signed forward Daniel Catenacci and goaltender Jason Kasdorf to two-way contracts.

Catenacci (5’9”, 191 lbs., 3/9/1993) made his NHL debut for the Sabres during the 2015-16 season, recording seven shots on goal in 11 games. Buffalo’s third-round pick (77th overall) in the 2011 NHL Draft, Catenacci also posted 24 points (12+12) in 50 games for the Rochester Americans (AHL) last season. In 196 career AHL games, the Richmond Hill, Ontario native has recorded 76 points (38+38) and 131 penalty minutes.

Kasdorf (6’3”, 172 lbs., 5/18/1992) also made his NHL debut in 2015-16, making 26 saves against Columbus on April 8 in his only appearance. Acquired in a trade from the Winnipeg Jets on Feb. 11, 2015, Kasdorf posted a 38-37-9 record with a .920 save percentage and a 2.39 goals-against average in 88 career games for RPI (NCAA) before turning pro last season.
