SABRES ASSIGN EIGHT TO ROCHESTER

BUFFALO, N.Y. (April 8, 2018) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has assigned eight players to the Rochester Americans (AHL): Forwards Nicholas Baptiste, Alexander Nylander and Kevin Porter; defensemen Brendan Guhle, Casey Nelson and Matt Tennyson; goaltenders Linus Ullmark and Adam Wilcox.

SABRES RECALL NYLANDER, PORTER FROM AMERKS

BUFFALO, N.Y. (April 3, 2018) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has recalled forwards Alexander Nylander and Kevin Porter from the Rochester Americans (AHL).

Both Nylander (6’1”, 192 lbs., 3/2/1998) and Porter (6’0”, 190 lbs., 3/12/1986) are joining the Sabres for the first time this season.

Buffalo’s first-round pick (8th overall) in the 2016 NHL Draft, Nylander recorded one assist in four games for the Sabres after making his NHL debut last season. Currently in his second pro season, the Calgary, Alberta native has 54 points (17+37) in 113 career games for the Amerks, including eight points (2+6) in his last eight contests.

Signed by Buffalo on July 1, Porter currently ranks third among Rochester skaters with 40 points (16+24) in 64 games this season. The Detroit, Michigan native has totaled 58 points (29+29) in 249 career NHL games and added 290 points (111+179) in 421 career AHL games.

SABRES ASSIGN NYLANDER TO TEAM SWEDEN

BUFFALO, N.Y. (December 20, 2017) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the organization has assigned forward Alexander Nylander to the Swedish men’s national junior ice hockey team for the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship. The tournament will be held in Buffalo from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5.

“This is a tremendous chance for Alex to play for his country at the upcoming tournament,” said Sabres General Manager Jason Botterill. “The World Junior Championship is a prestigious and challenging tournament that we are so excited to be hosting here in Buffalo. This opportunity will provide another important step in Alex’s development.”

Nylander (6’1”, 192 lbs., 3/2/1998) has led Team Sweden in points at each of the last two IIHF World Junior Championships and tied for the tournament lead in 2017 with 12 points (5+7) in seven games. The Sabres’ first-round pick (8th overall) at the 2016 NHL Draft, Nylander has totaled 34 points (12+22) in 79 games during his first two professional seasons with the Rochester Americans (AHL).

SABRES ASSIGN MALONE, NYLANDER TO ROCHESTER

BUFFALO, N.Y. (October 3, 2017) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has assigned forwards Sean Malone and Alexander Nylander to the Rochester Americans (AHL).

The Sabres now have 25 players (14 forwards, nine defensemen and two goaltenders) on their training camp roster.
