The Buffalo Sabres have recalled defenseman John Gilmour and goaltender Andrew Hammond from the Rochester Americans (AHL).
Highlights:
- Signed with the Sabres on July 1, 2019 and appeared in his first four games with the team earlier this season.
- Made his Sabres debut on Oct. 25 at Detroit and logged a season-high 19:56 of ice time on Nov. 1 at Washington.
- Was named to the 2018-19 AHL First All-Star Team after finishing last season among the AHL’s top 10 defensemen in goals (2nd), assists (8th), points (2nd) and game-winning goals (2nd).
Highlights:
- Signed with Buffalo as a free agent on July 1, 2019 after posting the best goals-against average of his AHL career (2.81) in 2018-19 with the Iowa Wild. Is currently on pace to set a new AHL career-best mark this season.
- Joins the Sabres for his second recall of the season after dressing as the team’s backup on Feb. 9 vs. Anaheim.
- Has played in parts of five NHL seasons, earning all but one of his 56 career appearances with the Ottawa Senators.
