Contests, 40%-off Sabres Store sale, discounted concessions and fan giveaways highlight Sabres’ final three home games of regular season
BUFFALO, N.Y. (March 27, 2014) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced plans for “Fan Appreciation Month,” which will take place during the team’s final three home games of the 2013-14 regular season. Each of the three nights provides fans a wide array of contests, promotions and giveaways that culminates with the annual “Fan Appreciation Night, presented by ADPRO Sports” on April 13, the team’s final home game. Below is a complete rundown of events for the three games during Fan Appreciation Month:
April 1, Sabres-Devils
- Fan handout upon entry to arena
- 26 season-ticket holders will be randomly selected to win autographed Sabres jerseys throughout the game
- Discounted concession items including: 24oz sodas ($2) and small popcorn cup ($2)
- 40%-off discount at Sabres Store
April 8, Sabres-Red Wings
- 26 season-ticket holders will be randomly selected to win autographed Sabres jerseys throughout the game
- Discounted concession items including: Peanuts ($3), candy ($3) and nachos ($3)

Fan Appreciation Night, presented by ADPRO Sports: April 13, Sabres-Islanders
To kick off Fan Appreciation Night, the Sabres will host a Party on Alumni Plaza, presented by Tops Friendly Markets, which will run from 2:30-4:30 p.m., in the plaza outside of First Niagara Center. The party will feature live music, appearances by Sabretooth and select Sabres alumni, Sabres merchandise giveaways, a pom-pom handout, as well as face painting and activities for kids. Tops Friendly Markets and partners will also be on hand with food sampling kiosks.
Beginning Friday, March 28, fans can begin entering for a chance to win a grand prize, which will be given away on Fan Appreciation Night: four round-trip airline tickets from Delta Air Lines. Two winners will be randomly selected on Thursday, April 10 and will each receive tickets to the Sabres-Islanders game on April 13. At the game, the two ticket-winners will participate in a contest to see who wins the grand prize. To enter this contest, fans can sign up at Sabres.com.
Two fan-favorite giveaways will also make their return to Fan Appreciation Night in 2014. Sabres players will again give away their game-worn jerseys to select season-ticket holders after the game in the “Jersey Off My Back” promotion. Another returning favorite is the post-game balloon drop, in which 2,000 balloons will be dropped from the arena’s rafters after the game’s final buzzer. Hundreds of the balloons will contain prize slips that can be redeemed that night.
In a pre-game ceremony, the Sabres, along with their Gold Ring Partners, will be presenting the annual team awards for MVP, Rookie of the Year, Unsung Hero and the 7th Man Award.
Fans attending the game on April 13 will also be treated to a pre-game handout, a 40%-off discount at the Sabres Store, as well as discounted concession prices including hot dogs ($2), pizza slices ($4) and souvenir sodas ($3).
Fan Appreciation Night Goes Digital
Another component returning to this year’s Fan Appreciation Night is a chance for fans watching the Sabres broadcast on MSG to win prizes throughout the game. To participate in this contest, fans can scan a QR code that will be displayed on their TV screen during both intermissions and after the game. In addition to scanning the QR code, fans can enter to win by accessing a website URL that will be displayed with the QR code. Prizes for the broadcast portion of Fan Appreciation Night include an autographed Sabres jersey and a pair of season tickets for the 2014-15 Buffalo Sabres season. Winners will be announced by Brian Duff during the game broadcast and prior to the postgame show on MSG.
