BUFFALO, N.Y. (March 8, 2014) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced that the team has recalled defenseman Chad Ruhwedel from the Rochester Amermicans of the American Hockey League (AHL) on an emergency basis.
Ruhwedel (5/7/90, 5’11”, 181 lbs) joins the Sabres for the second time this season after being called up on Jan. 24 for a seven-game stint. Currently the Amerks’ highest-scoring defenseman, Ruhwedel has registered 25 points (4+21) in 45 AHL games in 2013-14. Now in his second season in the Sabres organization, Ruhwedel has played in 14 NHL games after signing with the club as an undrafted free agent in April 2013.
