- Matt Moulson enters tonight’s game on a four-game point streak (1+4). He also has four points (1+3) in his last four games against San Jose.

SABRES-SHARKS NOTES
- The Sabres are currently on a franchise-best five-game winning streak against the Sharks. The previous record was four straight wins, set the first four times the teams faced off (Oct. 25, 1991 to Oct. 23, 1992).
- These teams are facing off twice this season for the first time since 2010-11. San Jose will visit Buffalo for the first time since Dec. 9, 2010 (6-3 Buffalo win).
- The Sharks have only won one game in Buffalo in the franchise’s history (Dec. 2, 2005). The Sabres have won both home games since then.
- Ryan Miller is 7-1-1 against the Sharks in his career with a .932 save percentage and a 2.17 goals against average.
CARDIAC KIDS
Christian Ehrhoff scored the game-winning goal for the Sabres with 44 seconds left in regulation on Tuesday vs. CAR. On Wednesday, Matt Moulson scored with 53 seconds left on the clock to tie the game, 4-4, before Matt D’Agostini scored in overtime to dispatch the Bruins. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, this marks the second time in franchise history that the Sabres have won consecutive games when scoring the tying or tiebreaking goal in the final minute of regulation (other: Nov. 17 and Nov. 20, 1976). The Sabres are the only team to accomplish that feat in 2013-14.
HAPPY DREW YEAR
- Drew Stafford’s career point rate from October through December is .486 (105 points in 216 games), putting him on a 40-point pace for an 82-game season. His rate from January through April is .658 (183 points in 278 games), putting him on a 54-point pace. So far this season, he is at a point-per-game pace in 2014.
- In his career, Stafford has recorded 51 points (24+27) in 72 games during the month of February (.708 PTS/GP), his highest point-scoring rate of any month of the season.

- As members of Team Sweden, Henrik Tallinder and Jhonas Enroth each earned a silver medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
- Ryan Miller won his sole start for the United States, a 5-1 win over Slovenia. With the win, Miller improved to 6-1 in seven Olympic games with a .945 save percentage and a 1.30 goals against average. His six wins for the United States rank him second in the nation’s Olympic history behind Jack McCartan (7).
- Ted Nolan led Latvia to the nation’s first ever quarterfinal Olympic game (a 2-1 loss to Canada) after a 3-1 win over Switzerland in the qualification round. The team’s eighth-place finish in Sochi was the best in the nation’s five Olympic Games appearances.
- Zemgus Girgensons (Latvia) registered two points (1+1) in the tournament, scoring his first Olympic goal on the power play in a 5-3 qualifying-round loss to Sweden.
CHANGING OF THE GUARD

Part of his duties as assistant general manager included serving as general manager of Ottawa’s American Hockey League affiliate, the 2011 Calder-Cup champion Binghamton Senators.
