BUFFALO, N.Y. (November 15, 2013) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced that they will hold a Fan Food Drive at four home games during the month of November to benefit the Food Bank of Western New York.
Sabres fans attending the home games on Nov. 15, Nov. 19, Nov. 24 and Nov. 27 are encouraged to bring along non-perishable food items, can goods or cash donations. Fans who donate to this cause will receive a voucher for $25 off 300 Level II tickets to a select Sabres home game (regularly priced $66, available for $41 with voucher). Games included in the offer are: Thursday, Dec. 5 vs. NY Rangers, Thursday, Dec. 19 vs. Boston, Saturday, Jan. 4 vs. New Jersey, Saturday, Jan. 18 vs. Columbus, Wednesday, Feb. 26 vs. Boston, Sunday, Mar. 16 vs. Montreal and Tuesday, Apr. 8 vs. Detroit.
Items will be collected at all major entrance points at First Niagara Center. All donations will be passed on to the Food Bank of Western New York.
The Sabres would also like to thank Northtown Automotive Group for their $1,000 donation to the Food Bank of Western New York, as well as WGR 550 for assisting in the promotion of the Fan Food Drive.
The Food Bank of Western New York is a member of Feeding America, a national network of over 200 affiliated food banks and food rescue organizations throughout all 50 states and Puerto Rico. They have been serving the needs of hungry people throughout Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties since 1979. Their mission is to obtain nutritious food and support from public and private sources and efficiently distribute these resources to the hungry in Western New York through their member agencies.
